Back To School

Summer has flown by too fast, and it is crazy to think it is almost that time to start getting prepared for back-to-school. I know most of you, parents, are already starting to plan and get ready to start a new school year. But, have you gotten your children their dental check up?

Unfortunately, a lot of parents forget to get their children a dental appointment before the school year starts. Routine dental hygiene appointments are very important because we can identify any detrimental habits that may have been caught during the summer break, such as, lack of proper brushing, frequent snacking, and less than optimal diet, among other factors. Increase in the development of dental caries (cavities) can be attributed to these habits. Therefore, by having a hygiene appointment and a dental exam, we can catch some of these tendencies and improve them.

Also, in the event that further dental treatment is needed, we can take advantage of the summer break and get the treatment done, without interfering with the school schedule, which I know is always challenging to manage. So, do not forget to get your kids an A+ dental exam before school starts!
